I'm a fashion design major, i would love to learn how to create textures for my avatar. To have a opportunity like this would be exciting and good for practice. Can anyone tell me where I can learn this or can someone put me on the path?

Clothing Design

I wish someone would do a step by step on how to create clothes. I have yet to find anything like that. If there is some graphic program I need to get, please let me know. With UVTextures down I am now at a loss.
