Advice for Newbies: Choosing A Suitable Screen Name
So you just found this really cool sexually-oriented 3D virtual world and you want to dive right in. Unfortunately, you have to choose a screen name before you have had a chance to look around. The temptation is great, I understand, to choose a screen name that you think will identify you as someone hot (or cool) , sophisticated, experienced, wild or fantastic. Take my advice: Don't do it!
Keep in mind that the screen name you choose IS the first impression people in RLC will get of you. Everyone looks more or less the same, so your screen name is what they will remember. Therefore you should choose your screen name with extreme care. Fortunately, you will get the chance to change your name once for free...thank you RLC! Many newbies will need to take advantage of that choice in the first few days of their lives in RLC.
What is a bad screen name? What is a good screen name? How do you know? What do you need to consider when choosing a name? Never fear. After a full year of participation in RLC, I have pretty much seen it all. People are very clever and creative and I am continuously amazed at the great names that people have devised for themselves. i have also seen the most horrendous names one can imagine, which makes me wonder if the person who chooses that name was raised in a cave away from all civilized human beings.
Bad Screen Names: Names which identify you as a boor or an idiot. Names that are unoriginal. Names that you really don't want to be called all the time. I have seen these names in RLC and they are totally inappropriate...for anyone! For instance, you don't want to be known as "Fuck_me_up_the _ass" for all time. Or: Big_Bitch, DirtySlut, or I_Have_a_Big_Dick, or FuckFace. Think of what you want people to call you. Do you want to answer to, "Hey Fuck! How are you?" or "Bitch, let's dance!" Do you want to listen to jokes like, "Let me fuck your face!" or "Those who brag about having a big dick really don't." Or even worse. Think of your friends...if you ever get any with names like that. Would they feel comfortable telling someone about their friend DickBreath? Suppose you hook up with someone and want to RLC-marry them? Does your Significant Other want to be married to "Isuckbigcocks?" Of course not.
Along with stupid names as mentioned above, consider if you want to have to keep typing, "Hi, I'm 567Randy09de3409" or "cbu789." What a pain it is for your friends to type, "Hey cbu789, want to go to a party?"
Good Screen Names: Names which identify you as a unique person with some sort of personality. Names that are clever and original, and even slightly edgy. Names that can be spelt. Names that can be said. Some of my favorites include (and apologies to the actual owners of these screen names) That_Kind_of_Girl (hahahaha!), Cinderfuckingella...friends can call her Cindy; VegasStar (friends call her Vegas or Star); Strip_Tease (friends call her Tease); and even Ball_Buster (friends call him Buster.)
So, please, Newbies, think about your screen name before you commit to a screen name that will cause others to shun you or laugh at you or put you on ignore. (I admit, I have iggied people who have totally hopeless screen names...because I did not want to SEE that name) Think before you commit to a screen name that might cause people to think that you have mental or emotional problems (KickMe, IHateMyself, DirtySlut, etc.). It's simple to do: Imagine having to answer to it day after day after day. Then choose wisely.

Surprisingly Happy With Name
In game I am Cum_Sister_Sally. This name was given to me by my best friend. I didn't like it at first, but after a few attempts to create my own name (all the names I thought of were taken), I resigned to her suggestion. I planned to change it once I decided on a suitable name.
Now I've had some pretty good results with the name. I consider the game to be pure fantasy, so I do not mind if people in-game consider me as promiscuous (as that would be the purpose of me playing the game). I've still managed to make quite a nice assortment of in-game friends. My name helps to keep me in character, as I've also learned that this game could get extremely involved. It has actually served me well :)
I've decided that to minimize confusion, I will always try to include the Sally part in my name changes. Sally is a pretty versatile name :)

So well written and concise, as I have a sort of pet peeve with the truly nastier namings on here (as honestly it just plain silly, it's your name afterall.) and gawddd yessss dear, for just how long does a member want to be called some of those, lol. Although, I also do have to laugh everytime in world when I have to greet some of them and as houses said, I do tend to have to ask a lot of them what they wish to be called.

I suffered a different sort
I suffered a different sort of screen name dilemma when I first signed on as well. I chose a name very close to my real identity, in fact it was my name except for the first. So I went with my middle and last name.
While this may not seem so bad, it got to me after awhile as people on here became closer and closer, and I felt that would I be willing to let my utherverse friends somehow merge into my real friends.
Would my real friends understand, or would they point and laugh at me for wasting valuable time on a virtual world.
It became clear that I did not have an answer for it, but rather to be on the safe side changed my name just in case. I'm sure that it would be worse for females as they may develop stalkers over time.
(yes I'm sure men also get stalkers, but perhaps not in the abundance that females do on here.)
