The Whole World is Watching...

Today, in the United States, we are watching as not only a new president take the oath of office, but a man of color doing so. Throughout history there have been many landmarks and this day is noooo exception, rather this is a whole new kind of landmark and one that is long overdue. We all, us that are here in the states and many others all over the world, have suffered through both fear and stupidity, the worst 8 years and the worst of leadership and now not only are we ready for a major change, but very well may not have made it without one. For the first time in our history a single man is making most of the whole world have a sense of renewed hope that this nation is once again going to be lead with by a man of intelligence, caring and one that brings a sense of faith with him. Faith, not in the religious sense but rather faith in us.
When I was very young all around me was patriots, lovers of America, so prideful and feeling so privaledged to live in such a strong and great nation. I was raised in that arua of belief that this nation was based on simple precepts such as all are equal here, all have the same chance as anyone else and none will ever be left behind. That our flag was flown all over and those around the world looked up to us for what we built here. I felt a great deal of pride in knowing all that was "true". Sadly as I grew up I realised that quit a bit of this that I knew was a fact, was actually a dream, a wish. And after all these years I finally got to see, by the last 8 years just how far away from all that, which gave us all such pride, we had strayed.
Sadly for the last 8 years, we in this nation have been lead down the the 5th circle of hell by the worst, by far and away, president and administration ever. We have had some bad ones in the past and most likely will again, but at no time in our short history has one single group of leaders taken us soooo far into the pits and suceeded in literally pissing off pretty much the whole world in the process!! Causing thinking Americans to feel nothing but shame for what has happened world wide and also what has happened right here in our own country.
Well folks, this is what this day is all about, renewal. A renewed sense of faith, a renewed sense of hope and perhaps once again, we that live in this nation and call ourselves Americans, can once again start to heal and feel good about being Americans again. I truly would love to once again look at our flag and feel myself swell with pride, knowing that we once again are about the people. See that is what it's all about PEOPLE. I am an American, but someone else is British, Indian, Japanese, African, Chinese on and on as we are supposed to be about the world!! The whole world and not simply about us.
I truly feel that we once again are seeing a new start. Sort of like a spring day with linins out on the line fluttering in the warm breeze. Fresh, nice and clean. A time to fix many things but a renewal of faith as well. Faith in our new leadership, faith in our abilties to heal the wounds we have caused, faith in humanity and a chance to once again move forward and reunit with the world and to be a brother, not an ally or enemy.
HOPE, FAITH and CARING time for the healing to begin.
