The night I spent with Brian

Have you ever wondered about who made RLC, why is build and how the dreams and ideas ever saw the first daylight?
Did you know that the first version of RLC was called Red Light World?
My night spent with Brian was my chance to seek knowledge, get to learn more about RLC and Brian.
I had some few things I wanted from Brian.
- Who is Brian as a person?
- What was the idea behind RLC, and what keeps that dream going?
When I first entered the world, I didn’t have any idea what RLC was nor had I any clue who builds the place and I didn’t care. Cause at that time I didn’t knew that RLC was going to be a huge part of who I am as a person. I didn’t realize that the friends and the connection I would make through the time would mean so much to me. But as I saw the world growing and became apart of the RLC team and a known face of the street, I started to wonder what was behind RLC.
I knew there where 3 people behind RLC. Brian and Ray got the vision during a vacation in Amsterdam, later Bob joined them.
They had planned to start off with another online dating company, they learned a lot from working with that other company and as things moved forward it became clear that an adult themed world was a better way to start. The first RLC as we know it was called Red Light World. And was version 1.
Before I met Brian, I thought he was a work addict that was not much or even no fun at all. I thought all he cared about was to keep finding things he could do better, and always on seek out for new things to build. That of cause wouldn’t leave him much free time.
I knew he used to work as a cartoonist and that of cause had to give him a sense of humour, but that was along time ago. And I knew he had written a book that is called the Minerva. But other than that I really didn’t know anything about him.
And I was taking by the one surprise after the other, and I learned a lot from those and it was a pleasure to find out that things aren’t always as they seem to be.
When I first wrote Brian a note saying I wanted to met up with him and have this conversation, I thought well lets see, Brian probably doesn’t even have the time to spend with just a regular curious user like me.
But a few days later Brian was suddenly on the street hugging with anyone. I had to clean my glasses and rub my eyes one more time. Was that really Brian there hugging with everyone? So I asked if I could get a hug also. What I got was not a hug it was a kiss, and that really took me by surprise. I had never in my wildest dreams thought Brian actually was up for the fun on the streets of RLC.
Brian told me that sure I could have my meeting the next day when ever I had the time for it. And I was thrilled, not only had he proved me wrong but he had also stunned me in a way that I didn’t think was possible.
So I learned that Brian is indeed not what you think he might be. He is fun, loving, caring, and outgoing and never says no to have a good time. He is also very polite and a man with a huge knowledge and his dreams for the world are what we all can dream of.
The true idea is (VWW) Virtual World Web. And in his book Minerva the human race is on a path for self destruction, and the only way to safe the human race is to go down to the basic human instincts and interact. The technology that makes the human life simple is also allowing people in small groups to do more damage. With the technology and the path of self destruction it’s getting closer.
It’s complicated and the simplest form is a new kind of human interaction that is not based on race, birthplace or religion. But a place where people from all over the world, can understand each other and interact without judgement. A place where people can connect, feel love for each other. The world will be better equipped to a mutual understanding of other cultures and lives.
“So we may begin to see the seeds of a real peace throughout the world. That’s the big picture”
From there a new kind of web – one that is more on a personal and social emerge. Brian feels that if he can build something that brings people together this way it might just be what we all need. The worries’ he takes with him on this path is that if someone else builds a 3D society it could be done in ways that are more less open to creating freedom and a community of love. Imagine that Microsoft or the US government would build a 3D society. It would be with rules and restrictions and even though the theme will be freedom and society, it would be based on the restrictions. Brian feels he can’t allow that to happen.
“The sex is apart of the human interaction. If only the press would understand that just because its RLC it doesn’t make it a porn – only place”
With the knowledge I have of Brian today, that I didn’t have a week ago. I can’t wait to see what he and the people working on RLC will create and build RLC into in the future. But one thing is for sure though. I will stick around to see it.
